I have been drawing Ganesha &meethi meethi Batein  since I was a kid, but professionally it all began a decade ago. I have lived, breathed, dreamt and expressed him in myriads of hues and in his many moods, with brush and acrylic. This series of Ganesha are both in greys as well as colours, with more defined strokes and vibrant tonality”.
“Ganesha became an inspiration very early in my life. An idol that became an ideal and then, my inspiration”, says Bala. The postures range from meditative to aggressive, from contemplative to playful. There is a whole lot of colourfulness and playfulness in Bala Bhaktaa Raju’s works.
Born in 1974 in Hyderabad, Bala obtained BFA degree from the DMS Lalitha Kala Maha Samsthana, Mysore. He won the Hyderabad Art Society Award in 2007. The artist has exhibited his works in many places in India. His most recent solo show includes ‘Aadi: the beginning’ at Artcafe, in 2011. Group shows featuring his works have been held in Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, New Delhi, Amritsar, and Mumbai among other cities.
