Recent works of Hanumanth are a summation of his many journeys, through each cadence of colour and coded textures one is drawn into the universe of a mendicant. In one way or another, the artist experiments with the way a cessation of colour takes on a different tone depending on the colour placed adjacent to it, appearing in darker, or sometimes lighter cadences. It is his experience in meditation that unravels certain fragments of less or more intensity from one end or the other of the chromatic spectrum. When he creates planes of a surge in intensity you can see that he is creating tonal gradations that either spring out of the composition or find a soothing retreat into it. The frame of reference for Hanumanth’s artistic investigations, is his explorations of colour – the vehicle he used for his many inward journeys.
