Ramesh Gorjala
BIO
Born in Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh, in 1979, Ramesh Gorjala studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in painting. His work focuses on traditional Indian heritage and culture, through sensitive and detailed mythological portrayals of various Indian gods.
Ramesh Gorjala’s works exemplify a deep connection with the India traditional art forms. inspired deeply by the “kalamkari ” tradition from South India, he marvelously blends it with his style of expression. He portrays the Indian Gods and Goddesses, reinstating theory allegorical depictions in intricate drawings. The stark black, fine rendering of the episodes are continuous and spread throughout the picture surface. A single character becomes the central figure who overpowers the composition completely. The inclusion of patterns and fresh hues at some sections of the works enlivens the picture surface.
